“We are naturally attracted to people with firm and clear boundaries, and we can’t help but treat them with respect. Boundaries are also the key to true intimacy. Without boundaries it is impossible to be truly intimate because it isn’t safe enough. If you are at some level, worried about getting hurt, you’ll put up barriers to protect yourself or keep people at a distance.”
At some level we all have in place boundaries. This becomes evident when someone rubs us the wrong way or when we loose our cool and …

Welcome to part two of my case study on Establishing Boundaries. Before any boundaries are established, it is essential that we first discover what our top four emotional and personal needs are. Once we have identified what our needs are only then can we begin to set boundaries, which is the key step in helping us meet these needs.
Needs=Needy?
Kick that mentality to the curb!
To have emotional needs is human. Everyone has needs. Those who don’t appear needy have simply figured out how to fulfill them. If you want to attract …

On my off time when I wasn’t blogging or crazy glued to my desk at work last month, I did a lot of reading. I put down The Art of Seduction (which I still have not finished ..have mercy) and picked up a book that I had read very quickly but finished before called The Secret Laws of Attraction by Talane Miedaner. I did a post last year on some of the key points I liked, but I never took the time to READ IT. The book has the reader …

I wanted to roll a copy of yesterday’s paper up into a tight newsprint boomerang and whip it at the head of Adam Giambrone, Kristen Lucas and maybe Sarah McQuarrie (I haven’t decided yet, but if she were around she’d get it just cause). Who are these targeted victims of the Goddesses’ wrath you ask?
Exhibit A: Giambrone is one of Toronto’s 2010 Mayoral candidates,
Exhibit B: McQuarrie is Giambrone’s long time partner (ride or die woman)
Exhibit C: Kristen Lucas Giambrone’s 20 year old fresh outta sweet valley high on the side …

I’m up a little too early on a Sunday but that’s all good, I’m excited! I’m single on a day that celebrates love and togetherness, but coincidentally I’m also single on Chinese New Years which according to tradition is a good thing, because single folks do not have to give out red envelopes with money- MO MONEY MO MONEY MO MONEY. Side note: I am part Chinese, I don’t just play one on TV. Thanks.
Ok so I’ve been M.I.A this week, well that’s because I’ve been living in my cubicle …

I was chatting with the author of the blog Sunday Musings and she directed my attention to an article in the Toronto Star titled “Meet Toronto Girls with New York City Dreams”. She instantly thought of me and my ambitious ants in the pants self, as my addiction to New York is only increasing as the days pass-smh. For those who read my last post- Yes, Sunday Musings is aiding my addiction *winks*
I read the article hoping to get some inspiration, but my smile morphed into grinch lips as I …

Sometimes we have to put ourselves on trial, I know I have lately. For what? Wellllll, I have recently come to terms with the fact that a close friend of mine has a drug addiction and has been performing sexual favors in exchange for drugs and money.
I am beyond heartbroken at the reality, but the cracks are quickly being sealed with logical cement.
I’ve spent countless hours strategizing, lecturing, and unfortunately aiding this addicted tortured soul. I haven’t handed this person drugs, pimped them out, or degraded them in any way…but …

Goals & Remaining focused
Hey y’all I just thought I’d drop in and make sure everyone is doing ok. Are we living up to those New Years resolutions? Did we make any? I have to give a shout out to Ms.Grant who made me write down three new years resolutions and post them on my refrigerator prior to the New Year. Since then I’ve been relentlessly working towards making them happen. Who knew that having the visual of my goals meshed into my daily routine would play a big part in …

I rang in 2010 in deep thought and for a few hours in gut busting laughter making fun of youtube vids (exciting, I know) with my crazy ass BFF who is the kind of person who finishes my sentence before I know how I want to end it. I passed up alcoholic deep throating and overpriced sweat drenched nightspots for a night of serenity and simplicity solo….Its grapefruit juice in my glass I swear!
Aside from the sniggling, I had to examine myself harder than I ever had in the past. …

For the third year in a row I’ve been helping out during the holidays at the Yonge Street Mission, a Christian based non-profit organization helping under privileged families in Toronto since 1896. My experience volunteering at YSM is always enriching and lots of fun. You’re always treated with respect and shown love by the staff and the program participants. Every year I’ve helped out with a different activity, this week I happened to help out with the Toy Market, which is basically a toy store (donation based and free of …
