Goals & Remaining focused

Hey y’all I just thought I’d drop in and make sure everyone is doing ok. Are we living up to those New Years resolutions? Did we make any? I have to give a shout out to Ms.Grant who made me write down three new years resolutions and post them on my refrigerator prior to the New Year. Since then I’ve been relentlessly working towards making them happen. Who knew that having the visual of my goals meshed into my daily routine would play a big part in keeping me focused…Love you lots Ms.Grant your method is G.I approved! Hey it’s not too late, if you have found that you dropped off for whatever reason, pick yaself up! Write what it is you want down, post it on the fridge and be about it. Incorporate a focus fest with your daily calorie fest …simple.

V-log

A vlog is in the works. I hope to have it up for everyone next week. I hope to have a very special guest in my vlog *winks*. That is all I can reveal for now. This is tentative though.

Special People

So far this year I’ve had my run in with a few crazies. I thought I was HCNIC (Head.Crazy.Negress.In.Charge) but no I am not. I accept the defeat. Stay tune for my adventures with the mentally challenging…or maybe not…moving along……

Haiti

I send my prayers and love to the Haitian Nation. Any legit organizations you feel and see that our really making an effort to help our sisters and brothers in Haiti, please share and post links. Unfortunately, there are many opportunists out there, they will get theirs.

Self Acceptance

A few months ago I was being driven home by a girlfriend in her brand new BMW X5678677089-09.I obviously don’t know or care about cars that much. The leather interior smelt gorgeous, she’s gorgeous I don’t hang out with the uglies, her career is gorgeous, her life appears to me as gorgeous and to top it off her personality is even gorgeous. I sat in the passenger seat feeling like the heated seats were going to suddenly open up in flames and engulf me, I felt that small compared to all this gorgeousness. I didn’t feel jealousy, I didn’t feel envy because my girl works hard for hers and deserves it all, but I felt like we were worlds apart. I started to feel like a stranger in her midst, which of course is not the case. I used to keep in touch a lot more frequently but one day felt for some strange reason that I was not up to her standards and just fell off, although she had never ever expressed anything of that nature to me.

During our ride home she was very curious to know how I was doing, as I had not shared a word about my life the entire time we were together. I revealed my plans for the future, my desire to relocate and tackle greener pastures. She gave me a look and stared back at the road and sighed.

She revealed that she admired my sense of adventure and will power to take risks. Her life had always been perfectly orchestrated therefore she never knew what it was like to stray off the beaten path. It’s our differences that make us cohesive. See, I had always known and loved that part of myself, the risk taking adventurer but I needed to hear it from her for some reason. Not specifically from her, but I just needed to hear it. We all need validation from time to time, but it feels so much better to reiceve it when you believe it to be your reality. This is why I’m……

Back to the Blog

Let the games begin. I’ve been e-stalking my blog family and the material has been wonderful-KEEP IT COMING FAMILY! I’ve also had the opportunity to help one of my favorite relatives launch her blog Sunday Musings please check it out, SHOW SOME LOVE.

I RECEIVED MY Blogging While Brown 2010 package last week. It’s all going down in WASHINGTON DC this year!! Join myself and members of the blog family: Mason Jamal, Nightfall, & the lovely Ms.Nikks the list is tentative of course, I just thought I’d add pressure because I am a troublemaker for a weekend of politicking and partying June 18-19th.

This year the Blogging While Brown committee is bringing back the wildly successful Beginners blog bootcamp for those who want a crash course in blogging 101. However this year there’s a twist- BOOT CAMP IS FREE AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC!

The boot camp will be held Friday morning at the Martin Luther King, Jr. Library located at 901 G St. N.W.1 . Space is limited to the number of computer terminals in the room, you know what that means- First come first serve!  This class is intended for individuals with NO BLOGGING EXPERIENCE.

Registration and additional info can be found on the Blogging while Brown site.

Whew that felt good…the floor is open?
