What Do You Want To Revolutionize?

When I think of the word revolution I automatically think of evolution and not solely because the words rhyme. Proven fact- we evolve from the moment an egg and sperm meet into these living breathing souls encapsulated in skin with guts and blood to hold it all together. We have emotions and unique experiences from the time of conception to the time we meet our maker, our lives are constantly growing and changing.

Many of us for a myriad of reasons have allowed or consistently allow the evolution within us to be put on pause. We rely on things outside of ourselves (material things, dependency on others, job security, a cushy bank account) to sustain a level of comfort with discomfort if that makes any sense. Discomfort in comfort, is when we allow our souls and minds to become stagnant. Forget foods with high sugar content for a minute, a complacent mentality is an even bigger killer.

I want to revolutionize the way people, especially people who society often neglects (minorities) think about relationships with self and others. I believe with all my heart that everyone’s life can be enhanced drastically with a strong sense of community. I want to use whatever God given talents I possess to make sure that everyone who interacts with me leaves with a new idea on how they can improve their relationships with self and others.

I blog a lot about romantic relationships often tackling issues many find uncomfortable to discuss or taboo. I want to eliminate walls and provide folks with boundaries and ways to build intimacy, hence my commitment workshops, my coaching programs, my daily discussions, Battle of The Sexes- Holllaa!

Do I consider myself a revolutionary? I don’t know about all that, but I definitely march to the beat of my own drum and am more than happy to lead the band.

Ya, I get deep sometimes…

So…think about it for a minute and please tell me, what do you want to revolutionize? It could be the way we drink soda, the way folks exercise, or even the way people tie their hair back. Spill it!

Well I’m not sure and I think it’s an important question. I do know that I don’t want to be one of the millions that lives and dies without anyone knowing. And I don’t mean being famous, or being a celebrity, I mean being significant enough that people after you believed you did your part in making something better.

Great post. I need to figure out what I want to revolutionize.

I’d love to help Black men and women learn to communicate with each other in a more positive manner. So our communication style in every aspect, verbal, non-verbal, physical, emotional, all of it, we need to change what we’re doing in order to re-build our families. I just want us to value ourselves more, so the world will in turn have no choice but to respect and take notice of that.
